Bullock Prices, Wellsford
The North Auckland Farmers' Coop., Ltd., report a most successful sale held on behalf of Mr. J. E. Leach, of "Fairview," Wellsford. The whole of his 310 three and four-year bullocks changed hands under the hammer at the following prices:—Fouryear Hereford bullocks, £14/10/- to £15/2/6; three-year P.A. steers, £13 to £14/3/-; four-year Shorthorn bullocks, £12/5/- to £13/12/-. The average for the whole yarding was £12/7/9.
Long Distance Call What is believed to be the first telephone call between Melbourne and Warkworth was made last Thursday evening, when Mrs W. T. Johnston, of Warkworth, spoke to her parents in the Australian city. The conversation was most sucessful.
The following servicemen have returned to the Dominion from overseas (we regret their omission from previous liats):—Gnr. G. B. Davis, Te Haua: Pte. Darcy Pepperell, Lower Matakana; and Flight/Lieut. V. Adolph, Kaipara Flats.
