Military Wedding

KINGDOM—RIGGIR

Last Satin-day afternoon the Anglican Church was the scene of the first war wedding to be celebrated in Wark worth, when the marriage of Cam, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs H, S. liiggir, Tauranga, and Corporal George .Kingdom, younger son of Mr and Mrs A. Kingdom, Tenby, South Wales, was celebrated. The officiating minister was the Eev. J. B. Riishworth.

The hiide, who entered the church with her brother, Mr Derek Riggir, njadoa charming and smiling picture in a simple trained frook of palest cream heavily patterned lace, cut on tailored lines. The veil was rather unique, being made of cobweb fine lace cascading to a sweeping overtrain from a high halo of seed pearls and the conventional orange blossom. A shower bouquet of Xmas lillies and rosebuds completed the charming ensemble. '"

Miss Rae Riggir, in pale lemon georgette, and carrying a posy of toning flowers, attended the bride.

Mr James Smith, a fellow-member of the bridegroom's Company, ably carried out the duties of best man, while other members of the Company formed a guard of honour at the church.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs Wally Johnston, Rasper St., where the lounge room was beautifully decorated with gladioli, and carnations in all summer shades. The bride's mother wore a patterned navy georgette frock and navy coat, and carried a bouquet of lemon and cerise carnations. Mrs W. Johnston's ensemble was of mist blue self-pat-terned marocain with a contrasting bouquet of palest shade sweet peas. Miss Mildred Tyler, who assisted as hostess, was attractively gowned in black sheer georgette, patterned in bold cyclamen flowers and wore a shoulder spray of flowers to tone.

The bride travelled in si London tan flock trimnied with tatting, a large Leghorn picture hat and tan accessories.
