RUGBY FOOTBALL

MATAKANA CLUB

The annual meeting of the Matakana Football Club was held on Inday last. There was a fair attendance of members and it was resolved to carry on with a team this season. The balance sheet showed a good credit to tho Club. The following officers were elected for the 1938 season -.—Patron, Mr D. M. Jones ; president, Mr W. Sharp; vice-presidents, Messrs E. Harper, W. Home, J. E. Jones, A. Dunning, N. Webber, A. Hyton, J. Ohitfcy, P. Withers, J. Simonseu, A. Campbell, E. Pulharn, F. Dixon, A. J. Watson ; delegates to Rugby Union, Messrs D. M. Jones and G. Smith ; secretary, Mr G. Smith ; committee, Messrs R. Jones, R. Harper, H. Smith, A. Tebbutt, 11. Witten, K. Chitty ; selector, Mr D. M. Jones; auditor, Mr L. Cheeseman.

It was decided to have an early practice and training for the beginning of the season.
