LOCAL AND GENERAL
On account of the death of Mr Trevor Day, the card evening which was to .have-been held in the Matakana Hall on Saturday evening in aid of the Plunket Society was postponed.
An instance of the Post and Telegraph Department's "perspicacity" was brought to out: notice yesterday, when shown an envelope postmarked at Wellington, addressed to Mr Lemore, Kaipara Flats, Auckland, which with its contents had been duly delivered to the intended addressee, the .Lena era Wine Co., Matakana.
The following will represent the Warkworth Tennis Club's B team to meet Way by at Wayby next Saturday :—Messrs Bailey, Todd, Gubb, Gifcfcos, Moore, Ormiston, Mrs Riley, Mrs Colebourne, Misses Price, Edwards, Langridge, Carran.
Owing to the falling off in entries and to other circumstances the Rodney Lawn Tennis Association will not be holding its usual three-day tournament this season. However, the Association has decided to hold the singles championships (men's and ladies) svt the Warkworth courts on February 29th. ;
