WELLSFORD BRANCH.

The monthly meeting of the Wellsford W omens* Institute was held recently, Mrs Heywood occupying the chair. The meeting opened with the Institute song. A musical monologue and recitation by Mrs Burnham was greatly enjoyed, and was heartily applauded. Two competitions proved very interesting. A tasting competition was won by Mrs Edmonds, and a drawing competition resulted in a tie between Mrs Morrison and Miss Edmonds. Arrangements were made for the holding of the birthday celebrations in March. Mrs Armour was appointed delegate for the conference to be held in May. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Atkinson, Coop and Armour, and the Misses Atkinson and Brookes.

On Monday evening, Feb. 29th, a number of friends of Mr and Mrs Albert Anderson congregated at their bungalow to tin-can the newly-wedded couple. Such was the invasion that the vast number of well-wishers were compelled to adjourn to the local hall, where dancing was indulged in till the small hours of the morning.
