HOCKEY NOTES.
RODNEY REPS.
Last Saturday competition matches were postponed in order to give the selectors a final opportunity of choosing the representative team to competo in Auckland next week. The A and Ji trial match at Warkworth was productive of some good hockey and the team eventually adec tod should give a good account of itself in the city. A pleasing feature of the final selection is the percentage of youthful players to gain representative honours. The following players have been nominated to compete for the White Horse Cup:—X. Oruickshank, E. Dunning, F. Edwards, W. Edwards, K. Hey wood, S. Hood, S. Jamieson, A. Langridge, S. Moore, E. Rogers, G Shepherd, L. Smith, R. Smith, E. Wyatt, J. Wyatt. The team will travel to Auckland on Sunday, and will again be resident at Hotel Gardner, Emily Place. Any intending spectators requiring board with the team at team rates must notify the secretary ('phone 51m, Warkworth) immediately, or hand their names in to the secretary of their club not later than tomorrow (Thursday) evening. On Saturday next the reps, will be afforded an opportunity to prove themselves against the following team of "old reps." :—Goal, J. Bays ; backs, N. Thomlinson, J. Smith ; halves, M. Edwards, A. Toovey, L. Beresford; forwards, C. Matthew, J. Grimmer, I). Jones, T. Grimmer, J. Goertz. Emer gency, H Andrews. Referees—Messrs P. W. Smith and F. Grimmer. The game will be played at Warkworth coinmeucing at 1.30 p.m sharp
Only four teams have entered this season :—Waipa (holders), Whangarei, Eodney and Franklin. Fortunately they are the strongest associations attached to Auckland, so that some excellent hockey and keen contesta may be expected. Arrangements have been made to play the Town v Country match and the Zauol Cup team against a country representative eleven under the cup conditions on July 18. LADIES' ASSOCIATION. The following have been selected to represent Eodney in the Country Week touruauieui to be held in Auckland, commencing Monday, July 13th:— E. Breruner, E. Gubb, S. Meiklejohn, Y. Jones, J. Melville, M. Dibble, I. Hendle, G. Becroft, M. Dunning, M. Nobilo, E. Dunning. Emergencies —Forwards, V. Wilson, N. Gubb, T. McPherson; backs, H. Becroft. On Saturday next, July 11th, a match between the above rep. team and a B team will be played at Warkwoith, at 1.30 p.m. Rep. team please wear rep. uniforms and B team, white jumpers and navy skirts. The following players form the B team: —J. Dunning, M. Smith, N. Gubb, V. Wilson, T. McPherson, A. Vipond, H. Becroft, M. Melville, J. Reunie, Mrs E. Wyatt, M. Nobilo. Emergencies—F. Bremuer, J. Yule, V. Gubb.
An error occured in the reporting of results of Wellsford v. Kaipara Flats match of June 27th. Results were, Wellsford drew with Kaipara Flats, 1 — 1.
