HOCKEY NOTES.
A. hard-fought match between Warkworth and Matakana at the show grounds on Saturday, resulted in a draw, each side scoring one goal; whilst, at Omaha, Port Albert defeated the home team by four goals to one. The position is now most interesting, each of the three loading teams haviug a fair chance of winning the competition. Warkwoith lias 11 points with one match to play, Matakana 9 points with two matches to play, and Port Albert « poiuts with two matches to play. In order to give the Rodney team extra practice in playing together, the programme as recently published, has been altered. On Saturday next an A and B match will be played aDd on July 11th the team which is to travel t-» Auckland will play a team selected from the remainder of .Rodney. Both matches will be played at Warkworth, commencing at 2.45 p.m. Cup matches will be continued on July 25th when Matakana play Port Albert at Matakana arid Kaipara Flats play Omaha at Omaha. On August Ist, Warkworth play Port Albert at Port Albert and Matakana play Kaipara Flats at Kaipara Flats. Those vis: ting Auckland for country week will be interested to know that a hockey dance will be held in Scott's hall on Wednesday, 15th July, and a "smoko" in the Forresters' hall on Friday 17th. Also, that on Saturday 18th, the county reps, will play Auck land and the country junior reps (under 24 yrs) will play the Auckland junior rep.s. The fallowing teams have been selected to play on Saturday : — A Team—Goal, J. Bayes ; backs, E. Dunning, J. W. Thouilinson; halves, E. W. Rogers, R. Haywood, A. C. Langridge; forwards, C. Matthew, S. Jamieson, G. Shepherd, F. Edwards, L. W. Smith. B Twain—Goal, H. Torkington; backs, W. Edwards, 0. Carran ; halves A. M. Langridge, R. Carran, J. Beoroft; forwards, J. Wyatt, F. Partridge, C Yearbury, S Hood, M. Yule* R. Oruiokshank* (*each plays half time). Emergencies—L. Gubb, S. Moore, E, Nealey. Messrs J. Goertz and R. Smith will control the game. LADIES' ASSOCIATION. Last Saturday's matches resulted as follows :—Matakana beat Warkworth 10—0; Port Albert beat Omaha, 6_l ; Wellsford beat Kaipara Flats. On Saturday next, July 4th, a "Possibles v.
