The weather i; still very unsettled and it is to be hoped that a favourable change will take place shortly to enable farmers to get their haymaking done. The weather of late has been against the fruitgrowers who have not been able to get their spraying and ploughing finished. Latest settlers to get new cars have been Mr H. Neal, who has gone in for a Morris "lain" 6 sedan and Mr Bert Gubb a Chevrolet 6 sedan. The above cars were supplied by Mr J-.~Thornton ■ of Warkwonh, per the agency of' Mr H. Holliday. Mr Reg. Shephflid purchased a twelve months old Chevrolet tourer from the same iirm. Mr Leu., Underwood took over the Grey tourer which Mr Neaie had previous to purchasing his vow Morris. ' PERSONAL Mr J. Singleton, the,secretary of the Port Albert Co.op. Dairy Co.,' has been confined to his house for the past few days wi ha severe chill, but at latest reports is now able to resume his duties

Master Grwyn Farr is still an inmate of the hospital but is making steady progress and all going well should bo home in two or three weeks. The iocnl school committee have decided to hold a school picnic on the Port Albert Domain on Thursday, 19tn inst. Quite a number of Port Albert residents made the trip to Wellsford last Thursday night to attend the performance staged by the Wtllsford i'ublic school. Those umkii.g the trip all came back with glowing accounts of a very fine evening's eatfirtainment. Miss Dora Southga'e has returned from Auckland wheie she has been engaged in publicity work for a well known Auckland tirni v£ draper*.

Mrs Forrest Reid is still expeiienc ing a tiying time with her health, but a change of weather should prove a great ooon to her and be the. means of setting her up completely.
