WHANGATEAU.
(Our Own Correspondent.) The Hail was packed full on Fridayevening, March 23rd, when a very enjoyable time was spent in community singing, dancing, etc. Mr Stewart and Mrs L 0. Whitaker, as heretofore, very kindly acted respectively a3 leader and accompanist. There were also weight guessing and dancing competitions. MrV. Meiklejoan very ably discharged the duties of M.C., whilst many kind friends supplied the music and the ladies provided an excellent gupper.. Over £7 was taken for admission/which is to be'devoted to providing clothing for the destitute in. Auckland. Several ladies and children in the neighbourhood have for some time been making up clothing for this purpose, and this sum will be devoted to purchase matetial. We understand that several parcels have already been sent to Adjutant Gordon and Rev.Jasper Oalder for distribution. "If the best results are to be obtained from herd-testing, it is impera- • tjve that share "milkers should be more - ki en on their job," said Mr 0. M. Huoje at a meeting of dairy factory delegates th£ other day. He. stated, that there were some share miljkera in', fche Waikato yrho would not haudle a. herd unless it was under test, proving^ therefore, that they were alive to th^ir own iuterests.
