RODNEY V.'ALDERTUND. A. team representing the Albertland Tennis Assn. visited Warkworth on. Saturday fot and played a series of matches with a representative team of the Rodney Tennis Assn. The latter were successful in winning by 14 matches to 3, and 171 games to 122. The weather was fine throughout and enjoyable tennis resulted. The outstanding players of the visiting team were Messrs Gray and Bellingham and in their doubles encounter with the Gravatt Bros., of Pakiri, they looked like running out winners after annexing the h'rst set. However, they were not steady enough for the consistent good play of the latter pair, who eventually won. ,' The following are the results Albertland players being mentioned fiist : — Men's Singles—J. Gray lost to E. Gravatt f 2—6, 3—6 ; Bellingharn lost to P. Gravatt, 2—6, 4—6 ; Brown lost to'floiden, 4—6, 6— 3, 5—7; Hutehinsou lost to Cowie, 2—6, '2—6. Ladies' iSiugles —Miss Ourrie lost to Mrs Johnstoue, I—9; Mi.?s Worthington lost to Mrs Ellis, 3—9. Men's Doubles •—Bellinghaui and Gray lost to E. Gravatt and IJ.1 J. Gravatt, 6 ~ 0, 3—6, 4—6 ; Stewart and Brown lost to Morrison and Cowie, 3—6, 3— 6; Underwood ancl Hutchinson lost to Holdeu and Derecourt, 2—6, 4—6j Newton and Liuuell lost to Smytheinku aud Adolph, 6— 3, 4—6, 4-6. Uoinbined Doubles — Stewart and Mrs Becroft lost to S. Morrison and Miss Gravatt, 6^-9; Lnuell and Mrs Wilcox lo^t to Derecourt and Mrs Mnitrus, 6-9 ; Underwood and Aiis 1< Grant beat JSuvytheuiau and Mrs Hamilton, 9—2; Newton and Mrs 0. Grant beat Adolph and Miss Bowmar, 9—6. ladies' Doubles—Mrs R. Grant and Mrs Beoroft lost to Mrs Johnstone and Mrs Ellis, 3—9 ; Misses Gurrie and Worthington lost to Miss Gravatt and Mrs Multrua, 7—9 ; Mrs 0. Grant and Mrs Wilcox beat Miss Bowmar and Mrs Hamilton, 9—6.
