ANOTHER WEDDING.
REMICER—SGHISCHKA.
A very pretty wedding was solemnised on Wednesday, February 10, at St. Peter and Paul's Church, Puhoi, the bride being Miss Kate Schischka, of Upper Waiwera, and the bridegroom Mr Thomas Bemiger, of Puhoi. The Rev. Father Kirrane performed the marriage rites.
The bride looked sweet in her wedding gown of white silk, richly trimmed with beautiful lace. The orthodox veil and orange blossoms were worn.
Seven bridesmaids followed tho bride, namely, Bertha Schischka (sister), Alice Schischka (sister) Mary Scholium, Winnie Schischka, Lizzie Scholium, Maggie Wenzlick and Dorothy Kirkham. The bridesmaids were all daintily frocked in white embroidery, with colored floral belts and white hats.
Mr Anton Meaney, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man;" while the other groomsmen were Mr Joe Schischka (brother of the bride), Mr Fred Titford, Charles Scholium, Mr John Titford, Mr John Berger and Mr Charles Straka.
After the ceremony the bridal party, followed by nnmerous relatives and friends of the bride and bridegroom, proceeded to the Puhoi Hotel, where the wedding breakfast was served, and the usual toasts honored.
In the evening the wedding dance was held in the hall, which was gaily decorated with bunting and palme. The music was supplied by tho Puhoi Town Band, of which Mr Remiger is a popular member. Although the evening was not as cool as might have been desired for dancing, nevertheless, the strains of music only faded away in the early-hours of the morning.
