MEASLES.
. When this complaint commences, no animal food must ,be taken-, but a low, spare diet, as gruel, sago, etc., and for drink, barley-water acidulated with lemon juice. Bedroom should be kept moderately cool, but draughts must be carefully avoided. When the. attack is of • a mild character, little medicine is required.' When the symptoms are more severe, active means must be used. Two or three times a day place the feet in warm water in which a little carbonate of soda has been dissolved. Give a mild emetic. The bowels should be kept open once a day by a powder or dose of senna mixture. If debility should be great tonics, stimulants, and nourishing fluids, such as good beef -tea, etc., will.be necessary. Be very careful of exposure to cold when the patient is recovering. '
