The application for a telephone office at Woodcocks has been approved. Mr Webster one of the telegraph engineers, visited the district recently, and the connection is likely to be made before long. Lieutenant Screaton is away at the Whangarei training camp. Additional trains are now running north of Helensville on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Though starting at the worst time of the year, this midday service is not a fixture. It is to be tried for three months. We would suggest to our Mataliana, Leigh, Big Omaha, Whangateau, Mullet Point, Mahurangi Heads and Tawharanui friends that they too should press for the Thursday mail coming by the oxpress. At present mails leaving Auckland Thursday mornings are not delivered at the offices named till close on evening on the Friday. The Warkworth Town Board is asking for the mails to come by. the early train. The new service should be retained by every possible means. For Influenza take Woods' Great • Peppermint Cure.
