BED SORES.
Where a long illness compels a pa'ent to lie in bed there is always a danger of sores breaking out on the back and buttocks from the continual pressure on these parts, and the absence of air on their surface. When a bed-sore threatens, the skin should be bathed frequently with warm water, dried thoroughly with a soft towel, and afterwards dabbed with a pad of absorbent cotton wool dipped in either eau de Cologne or whisky. 137
