At ~. "Westfielc?. yards on Thursdaylast we held car usual "t*alo of dairy and store cattla. Thero was an extra large yarding* and prices were the same as late quotations. Best dairy cows and heifers, close to profit, sold at from £8 10s to £12 15s; others £4 10s to£7 ss; heifers £5 to £10 10s empty cows £3 to £4 5s ; calves 25s to £2 10s. The advertised Holstein heifers, close to profit sold at from £9 10s to £17 ; others, £8 to £10 10s; yearling empty beifers, £5 10s to £9 At Albert Yards on Friday horses •were yarded in usual numbers, and sold at late rates. Hsavy draught horses sold at from £31 to £40; medium draughts, £18 to £27 ; light harness horses, £10 to £13 ; hack 3 and ponies, £3 10s to £12. At Wesfcfield yards on Monday we held a clearing sale of Mr J. B. Crawford's live and dead stock. There was a good attendance of buyers, and competition was keen. The dairy cows were mostly in milk and were a first class line. 'Prices ruled from £10 to £16 ; cows in milk sold from £9 10s to £16 ; springing cows, from £8 10s to £1410s ; calvedheifers. £6 to £10 10 springing heifers £5 10s to £12; bulls, £10 to £12 ; buggy, £42 ; horse £20 10s ; spring cart, £15. Sundries sold at satisfactory prices. At Westiield yards on Wednesday fat cattle were yarded in less numbers than usual, and competition was not as keen, although quotations are the same. Beet oxen sold to 30s per 1001b others, 26s to 28s ; cows and heifers, 25s to 28s ; steers sold at from £9 to £14 7s 6d; cows and heifers, £5 to £8 10s. A draft of 16 small but well fatted steers from Mr B. Eeed of Waeienga, averaged £13 12s 6d. Veal calves came forward in usual numbers, and sold at late rates. No heavy weight stock was yarded. Medium weight, £1 15s to £3 10s; others 20s to 31s ; smaller and fresh dropped, 3s to 15s. Sheep were yarded in full numbers, and sold at last week's rates. Best wethers sold at from 23s to 26s 9d ; others 19s to 22s ; infeiior-faued, 16s 6d to 18s 6d; heavy ewes, 18s to 21s 3d ; others 14s 9d to 17s 6d. Hoggets were penned in the u&ual supply, and sold at late rates, 10s 9d to 14s fid. Pigs were yarded in good supply, -D-d declined a shade in price. Bacoi.^is sold to £3 17s ; large porkers, £2 2s to £2 10s ; porkers, £1 10s to £2 ; slips, 22s to 27s ; weaners, 12s 6d to 15s.
