MEAT FOR FOWLS.

It is better when feeding meat to poultry to give it in small quantities each day, instead of perhaps a proportionate larger quantity every few days. When given in small doses the nitvai; will not overburden the hen's ktebd with, a superfluity of nitrogenous matter all at onoe. The mature animal body has not the same faculty of storing surplus nitrogen as it has of storing carbo-hydrates and fat that may come into the blood over and above requirements. Consequently any nitrogenous food digested over and above requirements of maintenance and egg production is not stored for use later, but is a waste, besides placing a strain on the kidne3 7s. A good way is to save the scraps of meat that come from the table from day to day for the fowls. These scraps are best mixed in the other soft food that is given to the fowls.
