Its bottom is three or four inches above-the floor and it is suspended from and slides upon channel-shaped rails at tachad to the side rails of the bed. The box may be constructed with or without a top, but, as shown in the illustration, has a top, the outer end of which is upholstered to provide a comfortable seat at the-foot of the bed when the box is pulled partly out.
