ORDER TRANSMITTER FOR RESTAURANTS.
An electric order transmitter, dec.;~ned to save the restaurant waiter one of the two trips usually necessary in serving a customer, and also to save time in rendering service, is being used in a London restaurant. The transmitting end of the apparatus comprises a dial, bearing the names cf the articles sold in the establishment, a pointer, and several push buttons.
The person wishing to be served turns the pointer until it registers with the name of the article he requires, and then pushes the electric button desifirated as "No. 1, repeating the operation for each dish he desires. If he has other diners with him, and two or more of the party desire^ the same dish or dishes, he presses the 2, 3, or 4 button. When a button is pushed a bell rings in. the kitchen, and a dial shows what is required.
The device can also be installed in the smoking and card rooms of clubs, and in hotel suites.
