Warkworth Town Board

(Continued.) ROTUNDA PARK.

The Chairman stated the treasurer of the Rotunda committee had informed him the committee was willing, if the Board wished, to continue to supervise the park. After some discussion, the clerk was instructed to convey the Board's bast thanks to the committee for its past services, and to state that while the Board would control the Park, it would be thankful, for any suggestion the committee, or any of its members may desire to make from time to time. FIKEBELL. The Clerk reported that Mr G. H, Phillips would submit estimates of the cost of a firebell and tower, as well the cost of installing the necessary means to ring the bell of Christ's Church from from the outside of the church. Damage to Ho ad. Mr Shannon reported it would take 25 yards of metal to repair the damage done on Whitaker's deviation road. The most of the cost would be recoverable from the timber haulers. The engineer was directed to have the work done, and an order for a further load of Leigh metal was given. Time Sheets. On the motion of Mr Williams, it was resolved to at once proceed with the preparation of time sheets for tho Boards workmen. A weekly sheet to show the roads worked ou each day and the nature of the work, was submitted by the clerk and approved. Quaiiky Reserve. Mr T. Ranisbottoin, applied for a lease of the quarry reserve at the back of his section, where at present, blooms the furze unprontably gay. On the motion of Mr Warm the request was granted, subject to resumption without compensation when required for public purposes. Mail Seuvice. Mr Williams and Mr Warm both referred to the calling for tenders for the carriage of mails and suggested a request for a daily service. It was stated that tenders were called for a mail coach service from Devonport to Puhoi. It was unanimously agreed to ask for a connection with Puhoi on either a Tuesday or a Friday, and if that failed to press for a daily service to Kaipara Flats.
