The Matakana and Ti Point schoolboys met at Dacre's Claim on the 3rd. inst. when the home team secured, a victory, the score being 9 points to 6. We are still waiting for our new wharf, which is not yet started, although the contract time expires this month, (unless an extension of time has been granted, and if this is so, it is not generally known.) The old wharf is in an advanced stage of deoay and public opinion is hoping the iines for over-time will be strictly imposed. The Council has posted a notice that persona use the old wharf do so at their own risk, which appears now to be a big one. While waiting for the steamer on Wednesday 7th inst. Mr T. Hanriby happened to lean against one of the rails, which gave way and precipitated him on to the rocks, some six or seven feet below the wharf. Falling on his back, Mr Handby received, amongst minor wounds, a nasty one at the back of his head and also hurt his side badly, and though able to walk home, has since been laid up as a result of tho accident.
