Someone remarked to Rafferty that "he wus in luck wid sich a foine lot viv young bullickeens, as they wore goin' till be in grate demand this Spring" Rafferty: "Faith, Oi hope so. Bedad, Oi've hed a jab ov id gittin' somethin' till ate all winhter." ' 'What do yez be givin' thim till May cums roun' ?" he was asked. Rafferty: "Och, whoiles a taste ov this, thet, an' the tother stuff, an' betwixt oursilves jist as little as Oi can hilp, so as till grow a ghran appetite fur the new grass thet's cumin."
