B. TEAM SCORES A WIN.
Though Saturday was showery, and the Warkworth-Matakana canal was not too good for horse riders, yet each member of the A team was in his place, and there were only two vacancies to fill in the B team, when the men turned out on the Matakana ground. There was too much standing water for a fast game, and at times it was hard to locate the ball in the rising shower^of mud and water. That was more on the one end of tho field. The probables . worked hard and had the best of the game in the first spell, but their repeated attacks failed to reach the net. J. Morrison and S. Civil showed to advantage. Before the game ended, Eric Wilson for the possibles was credited with two ( goals, but one was hit outside the circle, and no side sounded with B team the winners. Norman Wilson, both for the sake of practice, and to equalise the teams, was transferred from the custody of the Probable's goal, to that of the Possible's. After the game, Captains Thomson, Warm, Morrison and Civil, with referee McGechie, made the final selection, and the following players proceeded to town last night ready for the beginning of the tournament today :—N, Wilson, goal; E. Viall, H. I4augridge and J. Matthews, fullbacks; J. Smith, M.^. Philips, H. Clayden, 0. Wilson, halves; S. Mor-i----son, J. Morrison, S. Civil, H. Thomson, W. Andrews, E. Wilson, W. Biiiithwaite, J.
