After having been socially asleep— or at least very quiet for some time past, we have of late again awakened to the enjoyment of further activities.
The Omaha Amateur Boxing Association, which has this winter been meeting in the Leigh Hall, on Wed? nesday 24th Ju}y, gave an open invitation dance, and enough attended to make the night thoroughly ©njoyablo in spite of the inclement weather, the commencement of & spell of over four very wet days.
In aid of the Hall funds, a concert and dance under management of Mrs Gravatt was held on the same hall on Friday 2ad inst with an attendance) of between seventy and eightjywhen the following short programme was :—?ianft <\\iQt, by tho Misses Dunning,"(encore) ; recitation, " Paul Reveres ride " by Mrs Carr; Song, " Nobody knows " by Mrs T, Asfcton (encore) ; Recitation, f' The Groom's Story " by Mr S, Rhodes (encore) ; Piano solo, ■' Remembrance " by Miss I. Dunning; Recitation, "The Fireman's Wedding " by Mrs Carr ; Piano Duet " March Brilliaute " by the Misses Dunning ; God Save the King. The floor being cleared dancing hold swaj until 2 a.m. Mr Angus Dunning being M.C.
Light refreshments were supplied by the ladies and the dance music by Miss Irene Dunning and Messrs^!. E. Ashworth and A. Wyatt.
