TIMBER WORKERS’ CLAIMS.

Palmerston N, July 8
At the Conciliation Council yesterday the Wellington Timber yards Sawmills’ Union Workers’ claim was heard. It was stated that any award made wonld be operative throughout Wellington industrial district. An agreement was reached at Wellington operating over a radius of 25 miles that the city adopted, except for bush sawmills. The latter goes to Arbitration Court for- decision on the scope of the agreement until December, 1922, the date to operate being left to the Arbitration Court.
