There lias just come to light a secret memorandum of ilie German Official Commission regarding the French war damage. The document assesses the total payable by Germany to France as 7228 million gold’ marks less 215 million for German construction and pnblic improvements. The memorandum reckons the amount payable, apart from the war zone, as 50 millions, also damages to churches, cathedral sand public buildings at 75 millions.
