BUTTER PURCHASE.

Delegates have completed a contract with the Food Ministry for the purchase of Australian surplus butter. The terms and price are 240/ per cwt. f.o.b. for butter grading ninety points, with 1/ per cwt. more for each point from ninety-one to ninety-five inclusive. and 1/ per cwt. less for each point under ninety. An extra 3/ pel cwt. will be given for unsalted butter, which must not exceed twenty-five pel cent, of the whole. The Ministry will pay storage charges, after the average six weeks, and the Australian Committee will retain the right to gupply South Africa with butter, provided it does not exceed fifty tons monthly. The period of the contract is from Ist September to March Slst, and to include butter delivered in cool stores in Australia till Slst March.
