The keenest interest was shown in the Tilden-TCingscote encounter at Wimbledon. It is generally considered that the winner will prove the ultimate challenger of Patterson. The match lasted two hours. The light was bad and some rain fell. Kingscote was in brilliant form, often outplaying Tilden, whose superior service secured him the victory.
