MR SAMUEL GEORGE. A large section of onr readers •will deeply regret to’lcarn of the death of Mr Samuel George, of Sanson, on Saturday last, thereby removing yet another of those i ersonal links in the chain of memories which unite the present generation with the first inhabitants of the district. The deceased gentleman, who had attained the venerable age of nearly eighty years, had been a resident of the township for forty years, where he followed the calling of builder and 'oiuer, and was responsible for the h -ction of many of the old farmers o S w hich now dot the landscape liOtJSv »■. vicinity. In public movements he willingly contributed his full share, more especially in connection with the affairs appertaining to St. ’ Thomas’ Church, of which he was one of the original adherents and a consistent supporter. Thus at the close of a lifetime extending over nearly fourscore years his remains were laid at rest in the little cemetery on the hill in company with many otters whose funesal obsequies he had so impressively conducted from time to time. No more fitting tribute could be paid to his memory than that which was shown by the large assenfiblage of mourners who attended the church and graveside, where the last solemn rites were performed by the Rev. F. S. Ramson. The great number of wreaths and floral devices which were placed upon the coffin truly testified to the sorrow of his late follow citizens, who joined with the relatives in mourning the death of one who had fulfilled his duties as a parent and a citizen, whose life was repeated and whose death is regretted.—[Correspondent. ]
