Bl©' PRICES' AT FEILDING. -The fact that'sonarof the richest land in Feilding diSTfrfct was to be disposed of by aucticayesSerday attracted a very large gathering from all parts of the Island. .The properties are on Kimbolton road; a short distance from Feildiug, and comprised Short's stud bull farm* and sections in Fetch's block. The sale was conducted by Messrs Murray Roberts, acting ander instructions from Mrs E, Short and her son Mr E. E. Short. Mr Graham, of Messrs Graham and Reid, road the conditions of the sale, and the auctioneering -was in the hands of Mr I. Davidson, who briefly addressed the gathering He congratulated them on the opportunity of acquiring such valuable property, and reminded them of the success of Mr Short in grazing, and pointed out the advantage the holding paddocks would be to settlers in the upper part of the County in bringing stock to Feilding The first section put up was lot 4, 19 acres, with the right of taking lot 5, 17 acres 1 rood 2 perches. A bid of £IOO was promptly forthcoming, which speedily rose to £l5O, and at this figure was knocked down to Mr L T McLean. One or two lots were passed in but were sold at gthe conclusion of the sale Every section sold, at an average price of £l2O per aore In all the land sold realised £SS, - 880, the highest price being £l5O an acre Results :- Lot 1, 38 acres 2 roods, and lot 2, 29 acres 2 roods, H P Clare, Waituna West, £123 per aore Lot 3, 29 acres 2 roods, G H Thomas, Waituna West, £125 Lot 4, 19 acres, and lot 5, 17 acres 1 rood 24 perches, L T McLean, Waituna West, £l5O Lot 6, 34 acres, L T McLean, £lll Lot 7, 33 acres, H P Glare £lO6 JLot 8, 33 acres, 13 H McLean, Beaoonsfield, £IOB Lot 9, 32 acres was passed in at £IOO, and afterwards sold to Mr F H Vennell, Waituna, for £lO6 Lot 10, 32 acres, H J Booth, Oh eltenham, £145 10s Lot 11 25 acres, H E Thurston, Cheltenham, £135 Lots 12 and 13, each 2 acres, S Petersen, Utiku, £l5O Lot 14, 3 acres 1 rood, N J Short, Cheltenham, £144 Lot 1,2 acres, W J Brown, Kiwitea, £l2O. Lot 16, 2 acres 1 rood and lot 17, 2 acres, C Lucas, Rewa, £127 Lot 18, 22 acias 2 roods, passed in at £IOO and afterwards purchased by HBO Clare, Waituna West, £l2O Lot 19, 26 acres 2 roods 2 perches, W T Pratt, Apiti, £96 Lot 20, 3 acres 1 rood, C Hopping, Feilding, £BS Lot 21, 26 acres 1 rood 19 perches, passed in at £l4O, and afterwards purchased by J Malons, Apiti, £155. Lot 22, 89 acres, J W Wishnowski, Waverley, £SO. L.The following were the average:— Mrs Ernest Short's 298 acres, £122 2s per acre. Fletcher's Block, 238 acres. £92 7s. The total purchase money was ! £58,446. All the lots were sold.
