THE PONSONBY MURDER.

SYMPATHY WITH ACCUSED. Per Press Association. Auckland, March 116 Dennis Gunn was charged with murder and robbery at the Police Court this morning. A great crowd awaited prisoner’s arrival. At the doorway some’one called out “Cheer Up,” and a well-dressed woman pressed forward and shook hands with accused. A young man took a similar privilege with the remark “Cheer up ! old boy!” Prisoner was visibly affected by these expressions of sympathy. Gunn folded his arms and appeared slightly nervous while the charge was read. The police asked for a remand, till Thursday, was granted. ' '
