SERIOUS AFFRAYS IN DUBLIN. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. London, March 23 Serious affrays have occurred in Dublin. A crowd followed troops leaving a theatre in the city, and a collision took place near Portdbello •barracks, where the troops fired, killing a man and a woman, and wounding several. A large force of troops occupied Portobello bridge to prevent the crowd passing over. They fired several volleys, after which consternation and panic reigned. In the House of Commons, Mr T P O’Connor, adverting to hla statement reflecting upon soldiers searching the Lord Mayor’s house In Cork, said Mr Maopherson’s subsequent explanation disposed of his remarks. The explanation, moreover, did the officer concerned .great credit.
