BOWLING.
Five rinks from Club played a return match on Marton green, on Wednesday atfernoon. It was somewhat windy causing erratic play at times. With one exception the opposing rinks were evenly matched. The game resulted in favour of Marton by 12 points in the aggregate, this being the first win by Marton against Huntervillo during the present season. The visitors were entertained at after* noon tea dispensed by Miss Mogridge assisted by Mrs Stafford, Miss Cummins and Miss M Goyle. At the conclusion of Mr Mogridge in the absence of the President, Mr, H. Sutcliffe, ;and Mr Gorrie, Vice-President, thanked the visitors for being present, Mr D. Morrison, president of the Hunterville Bowling Club, briefly returned thanks for the pleasant game they had experienced, and expressed a hone that they would soon meet again, Cheers for both sides and the ladies concluded an enjoyable afternoon’s game. Pethericb, Evans (sk) 19; Stephens, Mogridge, Kees, Upchurch (sk) 20; Taylor, Towers Clark (sk) 24. Mr Clark was one man .short, his lead and third man played three bowls each.
