THE LABOUR COMBINE.

Per Press Association. Wellington, March 23 Mr Arbuckle, secretary of the Miners’ Federation, referring to the Waihi miners ceasing to work, states that the coalminers are affiliated with the gold miners, and will not allow the Waihi Gold Companies to starve their employees out.j He would favour the Miners' Federation assisting the wives and children of the gold miners to remove to the coal mining areas where the men will be able to earn money more in keeping with the cost or living. He adds that the Waihi men turned down the owners’ offer and asked for another conference which was refused. Mr Massey was then asked to call another conference and he agreed to do all he could to assist settlement.
