ENGLISH PLAYERS IN DUNEDINPer Press Association. Dunedin, Marcn 23 The lawn tennis match between the English players, Beamish and Lowe, and an Otago team, assisted by Ollivier, the New champion, eventuated to-day in hue but cold weather. In the singles Oilivier beat Beamish, 6—3, 6—4, The Christchurch man was in hue form, driving accurately and w’itfh good length. The doubles provided a hae exhibition, and alchoughqthe visitors won 3 sots out of 4, the contest was very even and the issue in doubt through the hrst three sets. Lowe was handicapped by an injury to his leg. Oilivier and Brown gave a surprisingly good exhibition, considering they had no previous practice together. The final score in_ favour of tiie visitors was I—6, .7—5, 6—3, 6 -3. Grav, a yonng 'Otago player, took one set with Beamish in the other singles game, but,Beamiah won the next two, 6—3, 6—l.
