NEW YORK MEAT MARKET.
New York, March 17. It is understood that the British Government has put on sale in New York a large quantity of Australian and New Zealand lamb and mutton. The prices are respectively 16% cents and 12% cents per pound wholesale, the current prices being !30 and 24 cents It is indicated that this is bing done In Order to relieve the congestion"of the meat stores in Britain, where some vessels carrying Australian meats have been unable to unload for three weeks.
