Hawke's Bay A met Poverty Bay in the Savile Cup, and after a fast and interesting game, Hawke’s Bay won by seven goals to three. The game was well contested the players all putting in good work on good horses. The teams were Hawke’s Bay: J Lyons, O Nelson, F Mackenzie, and W McKenzie. Poverty Bay: P Sherratt, G Reynolds, R Sherratt and J R Murphy. The game practically decides the destination of the Savile; Cup. Pareroa then met Hawke’s Bay B The former proved very much ahead of thier opponents, and won by 13 to 1, which is not altogether an indication of the play, which at times was very even and fast.
