per Press Association. Wanganui, March 9 While cleaning a furnace at the gasworks stoker John Smith, aged 52 years, residing at Gonville, received severe scalds and died in the hospital last evening. The accident was not seen, but Smith was found severely injured, and was conveyed to the hospital.
