AMUSEMENTS.

THE KIWIS. TOWN HALE, TO-NIGHT. Recently returned from the Old Country ex the s.s. Arawa, that clever and well-known Soldiers’ Concert Party, “The Kiwis,’’are to appear in the Town Hall, Martou, tills evening. In the fourth week of their tour the Kiwis are still creating that sncaeßS that followed the combination on their last tour of the British Isles, both public and press being unanimous in their*r.jf.ir;o of this unique and excellent show. During their last few months in Blighty no successful outdoor function was conducted without a strong bid for the services of “these New Zealand Chaps,” or the “Kai Wys, ” as the British folk would term them. It is to ;lioir credit that they wore selected to appear at the largest outdoor inactions held since the war, when, for sis consecutive days they performed in a huge marquee at Chelsea Gardens, London, in aid of a very excellent cause, restoring the gardens and orchards of Belgium and France. This function, organised by the Royal Horticultural Society of London was one of the most brilliant social affairs held in London, and, needless to say, a great financial success. The Kiwis were in active attendance at all entertainments organised in aid of St. Dunstair’s Hospital, one tour alone being undertaken for this purpose, with most gratifying results. The advanced booking for to-night’s performance astmres a crowded house being present to welcome the Kiwis. FRIDAY—MAKTUN. “THE WORLD TO LIVE' IN. ’ An interesting typo of modern girl is the heroine of the Select Picture “The World to Live In, ” screening at Everybody’s to-morrow evening. Alice Brady as the “Tinpannier, ” gives a remarkable presentation of this style of person, so common to great cities, Atlantic City is the setting chosen for this feature, and the background is, therefore, quite a feature of the picture. With strong dramatic touches sprinkled throughout “The World To Live In” is entertaining to a degree.
