ALLEGED INFANTICIDE.

Per Press Association. Whangarei, Jan 27. Hilda'Holden, a single -woman, of Maori descent, was charged at the Magistrate’s Coart with the murder of her new-born child on January sth, at the Commercial Hotel, Whangarei, where she was employed as a waitress. The motherland her baby were found on a bedroom floor at midnight, the latter with marks on the throat. The child subsequently died at the hospital. The jury found that death was due to heart failure, following the disturbed condition of the respiratory organs, but there was no evidence to show how the violence had been caused. < The accused was committed to the Supreme Court at Auckland for trial.
