THE BOLSHEVIK MENACE.

Mr Maurice, in the Daily News, says a clear policy for dealing with Bolshevism is essential. At present we have Mr Lloyd George’s, Mr Churchill’s and the French policies, but there will not mix. The dread of Bolshevik irruption into Western Europe led M. Olemenceau to adopt a policy of a barbed-wire fepce, but peace was pushed too far. Poland, and other Republics, took the opportunity to peg out new claims. This must be stopped. The Bolsheviks within two months can overwhelm Poland and if this happened the position would be appallingly serious. While the territory of Soviet Russia is exposed to invasion nationalise feeling will be intense, but this will decline if Russia be given clothing and machinery. The great mass of the Russians want peace.
