SPIRITED BIDDING. United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Oct. 30, noon. London, Oct. 27. At the wool sales 11,151 bales were catalogued, of which 3140 were New Zealand. To-day's offerings were . a fairly good selection, especially of average quality Merinos.* There was a large attendance aud spirited bidding hy Yorkshire and Continental buyers for Merinos, "average medium combing lots realising prices on a par with last closing rates. Faulty combing, bellies, and pieces advanced 5 per cent; crossbreds medium advanced o, aud fine were in keea request at full late rates. Scoareds'and slipes were generally in sellers' tavour. Lambs, Merinos "were in strong demand at unchanged prices, crossbreds par to 5 per cent advance. The Bradford market is buoyant with strong demand for fine qualities at higher rates, and "lower qualities show a hardening tendency.
