HIDES AND TALLOW Dalgety andJCo., Ltd., Palmerston North, report holding their hide and tallow sale on Thursday, 16th inst. Under the new regulations gazetted tanners have the right to select all the calfskins and 58 per cent, of all grades of hides. We offered a very large catalogue to the buyers; full advantage of the new regulations being_taken by the tanners who took most of the hides and all calf skins submitted except a few slippy, the latter realising 6%d above the schedule rate for best calf. We quote:—Heavy ox to 19d, medium ox t© 18%d," light ox to light cows 10>£d to 22>£d, light heifers 20d to 24d, cut, slippy and inferior 16d to 18d, yearlings lid to calf 11 to 161bs. to 33%d, best calf 10 lbs. and under, all taken by the tanners; calf slippy 30%d, horse hides 12s 6d to 30s, tallow in casks 58s to 60s per cwt., tallow in tins.sss, per, cwt., horse hair 18j<fd. ______
