MARTON LAWN TENNIS & CROQUET CLUB.

The annual meeting of the above Club was held in the Coronation Hall, Marton, last evening, Mr A. J. Dixon presiding over a fair attendance of members. Total £67 18s 3d. Liabilities. —Bank of New Zealand overdraft £95 4s 4d ; balance assets over liabilities £36 15s Bd. Total £133. Assets.—Equity in lease £100; outstanding subscriptions £3 ; plant £3O. Total £133. The report and balance sheet were adopted. It was decided that the Club avail itself of the offer of Mr Beckett to advance £l5O as the purchasing money for the tennis land. The Chairman was deputed to express the Club’s gratitude to Mr Beckett for his financial help to the Club. The following new members were elected: —Misses Wilson (3). gour, Mrs E. McKenzie, Mrs L. A. McKenzie, Mrs Clere and Messrs Hawke, L, S. Lawrence, N. D. Anderson, McDougall, Blytb, Clere, Hall, Louisson and McMillan. The following officers were elected: —President, Mr R. E. Beckett; vice presidents, Messrs H. Y. Cameron, W. B. Whitcombe and A. J. Dixon; captain, Mr J. K. Howard ; treasurer and secretary, Mr W. L. Aynsley; committee, Messrs K, Marshall, Hawke and F. S. Lawrence and Misses C. Beckett and L. Parkes. Mr N. D. Anderson was appointed hon. auditor. The official opening daj r for the courts was' fixed for Saturday, November Ist. Mr Lawrence was appointed to arrange for a series of flannel dances daring the summer months. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr Aynsley as secretary for the good work he had done during the past two years, which was car ried by acclamation.
