Gifts of Nelson plate have been made to twenty-two ships of the Grand Meet and the Cunard liner Carmania to mark their distinguished services in the war. The presentation was made at the Admiralty by a deputation from the Navy League, headed by the Duke of Somerset, president, who said that the plate formed part of the famous Bridport collection of Nelson relics. The donor wished to remain anonymous. Mr Walter Long, First L-rd of the Admiralty, expressed the thanks of the navy ior the gift.
