OUTBREAK IN AUSTRALIA. United Press Association—-By Electric Telergaph—Copyright. Sydney, June 9. A series of tragedies have occurred during the past few days. At Leichardt, a returned soldier named Jacobs, shot dead Mrs Rees with whom he had been living and then committed suicide. At Surrey Hills Mrs Anderson was shot dead, supposedly by her husband, a returned soldier, who is missing. At Orange, a man named Foster shot and dangerously wounded his wife and then committed suicide. In Melbourne a man called Turpenny stabbed his wife to death with a butcher’s knife. The body of an unknown man was found on the roof of a railway carriage. It is suspected that he has been murdered.
