Ormer Locklear, an aviator lieutenant in the United States army, who has given exhibitions of air stunts, changing from one airplane to another while flying, has publicly offered*to attempt tlie trans-Atlantic flight from Newfoundland to England. He has asked the American Aero Club to supply him with a suitahle'aeroplane. A TRANS-CONTINENTAL FLIGHT. New York, June 2. The New York Times’ Washington correspondent says a United States army flier will attempt a trans-Con-tinental airplane flight between New York and San Francisco, with one stop. A Martin bomber will be used, equipped with twin Liberty motors. A start may be made within a “ few days. New York, Juno 8. The Sun’s London correspondent states that Thomas .Sopwith, chairman of the Sopwith Company, told him that Hawker would not make a second attempt at the trans-Atlantic flight this year.
