HUNTERVILLE NOTES.
From Our Own Correspondent. Mr Jhme Chisholm has received notification of ins temporary transfer as manager of the Wanganui branch of the' Bank of New Zealand, Mr Rainer having been unfortunate enough to have broken his leg. The> reamed soldiers have decided to hold their annual ball some time during July, but the actual date will! be fully advertised later. The Rev. and Mrs Ford-Hutchin-son have secured a passage for Old Ireland, via the Panama Canal, and expect to leave New Zealand some time during the month of August. A euchre tournament will be held in the Anglican schoolroom on Friday night, commencing at eight o’clock. • As this will be the first of the season it is expected that there will be a large number present. The next parade,of the Boy Scouts will be held in the Anglican schoolroom on Wednesday afternoon, immediately after school. Mr and Mrs Harpur are at present visiting in the district A visit will be paid to the Presbyteran Church on Thursday evening, by the Rev. W. Gray-Dixon, M.A., Moderator of the Assembly, when he will deliver a lecture on Japan and the Japanese. Mr Dixon was for some years Professor of English in the Tokio University, Japan. A collection will be taken in aid of expenses. Supper will be dispensed by the ladies, tT afford those present an opportunity of meeting the reverend gentleman.
