During a sitting of the Diet at Munich, while Aver, Minister of Home Affairs was denouncing the assassination of Eisner, several shots were tired *from the public gallery The deputies took panic. Aver collapsed. He was hit by a bullet on the left side. Another t.nllet killed Deputy Osel, of the Bavarian Popular Party. Two officials were seriously wounded Berne, February 21. Following a general strike at Munich, an outbreak of civil war was signalled by the fringing of church bells. A procession of 10,000 workmen marched through the city. Violent firing becau and shops were plundered. A hundred citizens fled, hut Spartacists occupied the terminus and prevented further departures. The Spar'aclsts, whose adherents*inolude well-known ;auarchists, rushed through the streets in armed motor-cars. They arrested Minister Rosshacpter, who was stated to be wounded the Diet affray. Scheidemanu, in a speech at Weimar. declared that Munich was the scene of bloody civil war Avere, Bavarian Minister of the Interior, was murdered, as wel 1 as Eisner and three otter Minis'era wounded Spartacists arrested Rosshaupter, who was wounded, not killed.
