CHEESEMITE IN CHEESE.
(Per Pres# Association.} Wellington, February 21 Owing to Ihe fact tbat it has been so long waiting shipment, the balk of the cheese in store in Wellington and elsewhere has become infected with cheesemitea Cheese mite, separated, is hardly distinguishable by naked eye, but together it forms a black dust. Although it dees not greatly deteriorate the value of the cheese it makes tbe cheese very unpleasant to handle The mite affects the eyes and causes a skin irritation which may last-three weeks or more. Naturally, the appearance of mite has given the watersidera some concern, and a report regarding it was presented to a special meeting of the Wellington! Union held last night. fcAn investigation regarding the mite and experiment in its destruction'are now being carried out. The Union decided to urge farther attempts to eradicate the pest
