CRAMPTON COURT-MARTIAL.

Per Press Association Wanganui, February 21. The Crampton court-martial was continued this afternoon, when fat the close of evidence tendered in the eighth charge, addresses were delivered by counsel for ; accused and the prosecutor. At the conolusi on the ninth charge was commenced, in which it is alleged that Lieutenant Crampton permitted unnecessary force to be used to compel Private Badger to drill. Giving evidence. Badger alleged that he was kicked by Sergeant Smith and also punched. Witness also alleged that accused had used bad language and struck him under the wrist with a caue. Durinsr drill a rifle was strapped to witness’ wrist.

To Mr Lougbnan : Witness was a conscientious objector, and he laid bis rifle down because of conscientious objections. He did nut complain of any injuries. Accused gave evidence and denied that Badger was kicked or punched. The court-martial will be continued to-morrow.
